Some 2025.

Laura Branigan’s “Gloria” and “Self-Control” express so much; it’s difficult to listen to the two singles, the pair simply convey almost too much… they’re will against death, screams from an assignment of power; she understood so much, they’re the songs I listened to, alternating, on repeat, forty times here and there in a row years ago.. there have been days for years I’ve played Kammerflimmer Kollektief’s “We Paint the Town Beige” 199 times straight, it’s the recording that resembles me inside, or “Strawberry Fields Forever” or Angel Deradoorian’s “Saturnine Night” as always and “Like Spinning Plates” and “Life in a Glasshouse”.. With a Dying Fall | Baby Invasion the greatest new’ish movie (2024) I’ve seen this year, it blows everything into distance, a kind of > perfection of gargantuan AGGRO DR1FT agonistes

What else to write, ‘what else’ but: the insupportable shame of Gaza, of the genocide in Gaza —
David Berman, I always keep you in mind. “It gets really, really bad.” “Take a look at this fuckin view.” “Shame is coming back to the redneck people. / Top ten redneck moments: / There aren’t any.” “Heard you heard the news / Adam and Eve were Jews / And I always loved you to the max.” “Crazy Horse, age 35 / Covered in powder burns and paper cuts / Living with a cushion / — Everyone wants it, redneck / But you’re willing to fuck over your brothers / And so, it’s time for shame to come back.”
“How we stand the standard distance / Distant strangers stand apart…… / I’ve been forced to watch my foes enjoy / Ceaseless feasts of schadenfreud’….. / Well a setback can be a setup / For a comeback if you don’t let up / But this kind of hurtin won’t heal” •
